Create colourful macramé keyrings using basic knots, at The Harbour in Totterdown, as part of the Totterdown Arts Trail 2025.
Get started with the enjoyable craft of macramé in this beginner-friendly workshop! You'll learn how to master a few basic knots and use these fundamentals to create your very own colourful keyrings.
Guided step-by-step by your tutor Sam, the maker behind SC Knits, you'll work with colourful, hand-dyed cotton yarn provided for the class. Choose your preferred colours, and Sam will lead you through each loop and knot needed to complete your piece. No previous experience is necessary for this creative activity, making it suitable for adults and children aged 7 years and older.
By the end of the session, you'll have finished keyrings for you to display on keys or as a bag charm.
Workshop includes:
- Colourful cord options and keyring attachments
- Expert tuition from Sam
- Example pieces for inspiration
- Your beautifully finished keyrings to take home
If you wish to continue your macramé journey cord and keyrings will be available to purchase separately at the workshop.
This activity can also be arranged as a creative addition to private parties, gatherings, or social events. For private bookings, please contact the host, Sam, to discuss possibilities. Note that venue provision or hire costs will apply for private arrangements.

Duration: 2 Hours (14:00-16:00) This is a drop-in workshop. You may arrive and leave at anytime within the session.
